Good day to all, I was going thru a box of old memories and came across photos I took at the 1973 AMA road race at the Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania.
I thought this might be of interest. Its Reg Pridmore and His BMW on the starting grid. It brought back the smells (Castro motor oil) and the sounds of four
strokes among the 2 strokes. The days before umbrella girls.

Thank you for posting. Pridmore was a hero in my youth. I’ve saved the photo...

I did two laps as a pillion with Reg at a track in Kansas.
He was so smooth it was not scary sitting on the back.

I read that they also did some fancy machining and part swapping to reduce the width of the engine, too.

Great pictures Frank! You must have had track passes- not easy to get even then!

Those guys were amazing and I watched all of them racing in the UK in GPs and the much missed Transatlantic Trophy series, at various times, tracks and over several years. Fabulous racing.
