so I woke up this morning with the gate and garage door wide open, only to find my bike have been stolen, I have spoken to the insurance company and so on, but still feel I need to look for the bike, any advice? |

Zitat von Jurian_Killian im Beitrag #1 If it is a targeted theft - i.e. determined and stealthy entry to your garage and tools to get the bike away then it is long gone. However, in the UK thieves are known to place the bike in a street in case it has a tracker, leave it for a while then return. So depending on your location ( urban or rural ) you may feel it worth a scan of streets and car parks. Sorry its happened

Some years ago I worked with a fellow who lived in San Francisco (in an area called "Cow Hollow", of all things). He told me that someone used an axe to chop down his garage door so that they could steal his bicycle. He then bought my 1985 Kawasaki GPz 305 to get around when I moved on to my first BMW, an R80. Two weeks later the Kawasaki was stolen. When I asked him if it had been stolen out of his garage, he told me no, he had parked it in the street as he didn't want to have his garage destroyed again. I guess that worked. Unfortunately, the bike was never heard from again. A year later he moved out of the big city and into the Sacramento suburbs, where (at that time) neighbors kept an eye out for each other, did not appreciate burglars in their community and took appropriate action when they were discovered.

Hope the insurance company and dealers treat you well and efficiently. I have a silent GPS alarm on my bike, but I'm not sure I would want to find the bike after the first 12 hours....
