His "thrust" is just rear wheel torque divided by the rear tire radius. It's the force transmitted to the surface of the spinning dyno drum/wheel. Similarly, the rear wheel torque is the engine torque multiplied by the gear reduction, ignoring meshing losses. None of that explains his 0.4 and 0.6 factors.

When he got to that part of his explanation he was grasping at straws to come up with a comparison between EV and ICE vehicles and tried "winging" it.

The electric motorcycle business for anything but city commuters seems pretty much dead. I think it just leaves Zero, who produces just a few thousand motorcycles a year (if that) and LiveWire (H-D's spinoff) that apparently has sales in the hundreds a year. No wonder the established ICE motorcycle firms are staying out of the market. It really doesn't seem like a profitable long-term game plan at the moment and perhaps even for the next five or ten years - no matter what U.S. and EU regulators are demanding. I guess he may have a nice ornament should he need a bespoke part. Part of the original company was sold to Ducati. Maybe Piaggio will rescue the rest of the company?

As for racing, Ducati took over the MotoE part of the business last year so it will continue I guess. There was a lot of optimism when the Italian owners secured American investment a couple of years ago but it seems the parent company was not very well run and has gone tits up taking Energica with it.
