I intend to renew both tyres within the next month or so and wondered if if it was worth replacing the TPMS units at the same time |

Depending how often you get new tires, just wait for one or both to fail and replace them on the next tire change.

After much reading and watching 'experts', and changing my mind more times than an American president, I have decided to well leave alone for now. If it were a simple replacement, then yes new ones would be fitted this time but as usual other gadgetry is required to make these things work. I shall get a couple of cheap replacements to play with in the meantime so that when the time comes I shall be better placed. |

So the wheels are off ready for the new rubber. I'm currently on Michelin Road 5's. The rear is not too bad but the front is shot, however I always replace in pairs so I'm looking at Road 6's this time. I had considered the GT version but past (expelled) member Bravo tried them and said if you're not riding two up all the time they were too stiff. I respect his advice so will go with the standard. |

When the time does come to swap the TPMS sensors, I've had zero issues with these aftermarket replacements. |

I am not particularly heavy at 12 and a half stone and only ride solo. The GT's have a stiffer side wall and I wonder if it maybe a hard ride. So this is why I caution too much brand loyalty in tires for sure. I really learned this in racing, If someone is winning you do pay attention to what they are doing with their bike ... So, there were three or four tires, if you read the article, that they really liked. like say the pirelli angel II GT, Dunlop road smart IV GT and so on. And yes they didn't like the metzler too much. But in a couple of years metztler may have the better tire, it happens fast ....
