Tuning and modding » One more modification for the RS

I'm not a fan of "mods for mods sake", preferring those whose form follows function. And for function, the mods installed previously have done the job - Mudsling to protect the rear suspension elements and a Puig "Touring Plus" windscreen, to protect me.

I don't carry passengers on my bike, and for 3 years those passenger pegs on the RS have been begging for release. Decided to get the R&G footpeg delete kit, but there were none in stock all summer. Finally, Twisted Throttle told me they got one in stock (from the UK manufacturer), so I bought the kit and installed it. Think it really "cleans up" the bike, though for those carrying passengers this mod isn't on the radar.

Photos attached. The kit includes exhaust hanger and left footpeg "blanking" plate.

I agree that things look better for those of us who ride solo.

I while ago I acquired a second hand OEM exhaust bracket. Then cut the peg off.

Saves weight and removes a "boot snag risk".

One issue...if you want to trailer the bike, the rear peg frames are the recommended rear strap points.

I rarely ride with a passenger but I leave my pax pegs on in case a riding buddy breaks down and needs a ride. I've picked up broke down riders on the side of the road too.

Forgot to add another "mod" I did, as soon as I bought the RS in '23 - BMW TFT screen protector...worth the $70. Again, a "functional" mod.

I didn't see the point of adding the screen protector to our TFT screens because I didn't see how they would get scratched if they are not touch screens.
Turns out the TFT screen water spots really bad and is hard to clean. All it takes is a morning dew to make the screen look bad.
This is only a problem for OCD riders :(
Is it easy to remove water spots from the screen protector?

For some strange reason the screen protector doesn't get water spots on my RS

I get marks from droplets left when washing the bike. Could be wax from he car shampoo, or mineral deposits from the tap water. I also get marks from general road dirt. Learned to ignore. No screen protector.
