as I predicted, member countries are dragging their feet over the cost of implementing this biometric and electronic system to manage Shengen entry and exit.

EES (fingerprinting) to start 12 Oct 2025
ETIAS (visa) will now cost �20 for a 3 year visa, starting Oct 2026 for those 18-60 years. Free for other ages.
