time for new plugs and just noticed my manual identifies plug gap .8 but recommended plug for the bike (NGK LMAR8AI-10) which comes gaped to 1.0. NGK LMAR8AI-8 is available if we want .8mm. I assume my manual is incorrect and our gap is 1mm. didn't find a gap # in the owners manual.
What is wrong with the current plugs? Do modern plugs actually wear out? Some car makers say 90,000 miles and we aren't riding bikes going bang 18,000 times a minute.
Plus, looking at your image, which has the same spec as my R1200 rider manual, anything between 0.8 and 1mm will be fine. I doubt a BMW tech messes with the gap set in the NGK factory when earning the workshop another 70 quid in parts and labour in that 10 minutes between fag breaks.
