In 4 years of ownership, I saw an R1200RS and R1250RS on the road other than mine. I also tried to sell mine before trading it in and got very little interest. Given that trading it in saved me sales tax and I could remove and resell the farkles, it was a good deal for me.

I should also note that a bit used dealer near me has had an R1250RS on the floor for a few months. They're asking $12k with 18k miles and side cases. I traded mine for $10k including side cases, but again, removed the farkles so I'm netting about what I could have sold it for privately.

It's a great bike but as said previously, invisible in the US. It had advantages over the 1250GS but it has less compared to the 1300GS.

For me, I don’t buy “new” until the RS. It’s why I’m also careful about picking a bike. Nobody wants the R or RS? Mind boggling…unless the GS is becoming more like the R/RS…making them redundant. I never buy a new vehicle with the intention of selling it or trading it in. I tend to run them into the ground before getting new…and I have a 1998 pickup with 220 thousand miles on it I kept for work around the property and hauling stuff to town.
