Has anyone else run into this kind of thing? On Oct 11, I received email from BMW Motorrad advertising "Limited-Time Offer: 60% off select Riders' Gear and Apparel." I followed the link and found the Grand Journey Backpack advertised at $75. I clicked on Add to Cart and was redirected to Tom Woods BMW in Indianapolis where the same backpack was now listed at $149.71. I pinged Tom Woods by email and got a perfectly polite message back indicating that they couldn't match the $75 price. No problem. So I wrote to BMW Motorrad Customer Service pointing out the price discrepancy and received the following response. "...While BMW NA establishes the manufactured suggested retail price for its vehicles, authorized BMW Motorrad dealers are independently owned and operated and ultimately set the final retail price for the products and services that they sell. If you haven't already had the opportunity to speak with the Parts Manager at Tom Wood BMW, we recommend doing so as they are in the best position to discuss your concerns..."

I received the same email offer, but I didn't even bother looking at it. After 65 years of riding motorcycles, I have so much riding gear in my home, about 10 of everything, that what I don't need is more stuff - at least not until I build a shed in the backyard to store it in.

BMW's response is typical. A couple of years ago I had a horrendous experience with a dealer (BMW "authorized" dealer) regarding service and emailed BMW my complaint. Their response was similar to yours...deflect, deflect, deflect. BMW's "customer service" is a bit of an oxymoron.

Well, one party is promising a 50% drop in all prices and higher tariffs, reminding me of those Brexit promises that worked so well.

Perhaps, Stellanis is the canary in the coal mine. 50% price rise since 2019, when inflation rose 23% and only offering 9% discounts on left over 2023s
