Warranty stuff » Front Steering Lubrication - this normal?

Saw what appeared to be excess lubrication while working on some wiring. I hadn't notice issues on my first/only ride, but this didn't look 'normal' to me.

Others with 1250's seen same thing? Or do I have a leak/problem?

I had that on my 1250, I just kept cleaning it off the lower triple clamp until it stopped.

Once all grease removed check for play in bearings after a few hundred miles because over greasing can cause a form of hydraulic lock preventing correct bearing seating during assembly.
If bearings are left in a lose condition they will wear rapidly. Dealer should / could check and adjust if required under warranty.

But at least you know that the bearings have grease. Maybe small consolation, but I've had bikes come with dry steering head bearings. That ain't right.

That looks like a lot of grease! I know that you are not on the West coast where the extreme heat wave has been but could it possibly just be hot, melted grease emerging from the steering head and bearings?

Even so, it would be worth investigating I guess, as presumably the grease is supposed to be on the bearings, not down where it is in your photograph!

My brand new bike left the showroom with grease like in the photo , I just thought at least there is grease there
