Warranty stuff » First Service and warranty question?

Hi everyone.
I purchased a R1250RS in March this year 2 weeks before lockdown here in the UK.
I've finally got my first service booked in for June 15th but as I commute on my bike and have worked in the aerospace industry through the lockdown
my mileage has crept above 1000.. but as I had no idea when the garages would be opened again I bought oil and filter for my bike and did my own oil change at 760miles.
Will this effect my warranty?? as I expect by the 15th june my mileage will be nearer 1500.

I think you have done the right thing to replace the oil and filter. Just keep the receipt and explain to them your predicament. I'm sure BMW will have this covered.

Thanks @Wayfarer Iv'e managed to get 5th June service date now. at least that's 10 days earlier. Strange times we live in..

I think any vehicle manufacturer would be pretty dumb to nit pick on this issue in the current climate - if it was 10000 miles then maybe ...

BMW might be interested in whether you used a genuine BMW filter, and whether you used the correct grade of their funky synthetic oil?

HI Freddyfruitbat BMW OEM filter was unavailable but i used the MAHLE which I believe from a post on here is the one BMW use.. Also I could not get the BMW oil but I used the exact grade and spec BMW use. unless they have something in it they don't tell you about?? ..
Anyway that's what I had to do and I am prepared to argue the point with BWM dealers about that fact as they couldn't provided the service nor could anyone.
