In our first forum a lot of posters seemed to have adopted the MotoReflective kits for the top box and the panniers. MotoReflective was one of the "trade" sponsors (as was Remus) - but that contact was lost with the forum itself.

Anyway, I have been very happy with this product. MotoReflective normally use 3M film that is black during daylight, but lights up white at night. Oz really requires red at night, and it made red, on request, for people whose local laws required it.

When my R1200RS was written off, the top box suffered a fatal blow, and the 1250 has a new one.

I ordered another set, part no. #RK-31 and tried the best I could with the automated web site to tell MotoReflective I needed red. That did not work, and when I got the material, it was the standard US colours. I wrote an email and received a very prompt reply, along with a promise to re-supply, at no cost, in the red colour.

MotoReflective were good as their word, and the items arrived today.

Because the reflectors are mainly on the back, you really can't see them while riding. There are small bands of reflective material for the sides of the top box. I have seen how effective they are.

Where I live in Melbourne there are quite a few restaurants with car-parks and at night, they can get pretty busy. Often the drivers are more concerned with food than they are with taking care, and a motorcycle in a car bay, in the dark, is not what is expected and by the time their nose swings into the spot, well...

The reflective material really stands out in headlights. And, because the top box is quite high, especially on the centre stand, it was like a lighthouse, leaving no doubt that the bay was occupied. I really don't think that the standard reflector on the rat-tail under the licence plate is really enough. The additional reflective material has virtually no weight and does not increase the bulk of the bike.

Well you've sold me, a DIY helmet kit and some for my cases are my next purchase...

I agree the Motoreflective kits are good and they have nice templates to match the rear of the panniers etc.

+1 on the pannier kits. Mine are black/grey and blend in with panniers during the day, but are supa reflective at night.

Also fitted my top box with Motoreflective tape. I love the product and brightness.
