Yesterday at Alice's restaurant there was a Lamborghini that looked like a rocket ship. I couldn't find a model name on the car. In addition to the photos of the car by itself I also attached one photo of my 1998 Saturn station wagon parked next to the car. Sort of a contrast in both design and price. Also attached are several photos of an Arial Atom S3. Note the red key on the left front fender. That is the ignition key. You just turn the key 90 degrees to turn on the ignition and when you leave the car you can just pull the red plastic key out of the fender and walk away. Just like a classic Slash 2 BMW boxer.

This morning at the Sky Londa parking lot, across the state highway from Alice's restaurant, a fellow had ridden there on his 1914, single-speed, H-D 9hp V-twin 10E. He said that the bike runs great. He has owned it for the past 60 ears and he has ridden across the U.S. 7 times as part of an antique-motorcycle group. He says that it runs right along at 42 mph and uses very little oil. The only real mechanical modifications that he has made were to replace the original cast iron pistons with aluminum ones and to install an extra contracting brake, in addition to the original expanding brake, on the rear brake drum, which helps out stopping a bit since the bike has no front brake. The box on the rear rack is an extra fuel tank which helps him get across areas in the West where gas stations are few and far between. The owner had been living in the SF Bay Area for a number of years, but said that he originally hailed from Northern England, which I seemed to have given him a bit of a Scottish accent.

And if you are into classic American land yachts, here are a few photos of a Cadillac convertible. The owner said it was a 1956 model, which was made for only one year. Quite a piece of American steel and luxury.

The accents in Cumbria and Northumberland, counties immediately below Hadrian's Wall have very distinct accents, with roots in the Norse tongues of the Vikings. Geordie in particular can be even more unintelligible than Glaswegian! I'm guessing you would recognise Scouse from Liverpool due to exposure to interviews from the Beatles, and maybe Yorkshire from Alan Bennett and the actors in his monologues.

I like the retaining straps on the pushrods. only 217 built between 1960-62 so I bet that is quite rare now as they were built for racing

Today the parking lot at Alice's restaurant was littered with new Ferraris, Porsches and McLarens, which I didn't interest me all that much as I really don't know anything about the new models. So I walked across the highway an took photos of this old kit race car. Since it didn't have a name plate on the body, other than the Roush name on the engine cover, I have no idea what it is or when it was built. But it is something interesting to look at, including the bumps on the top of the car, apparently to accommodate tall drivers (?). If you look closely, you can see that there is no steering wheel, so the car must drive itself.

Here are two bikes that were parked across the street from Alice's restaurant. A supercharged Kawasaki S2 and a Ducati Diavel (spelling corrected) V4. Check out its muffler. Ducati went all out when designing it. And the Hydrogen Highway, which was cleaned out a few months ago, is now being used to park a portable shower wagon.
