If you don’t venture far from home with limited highway then consider the R1200R. If you travel far enough that you can get caught in the Florida downpours or will ride the highway any distance, then the R1200RS is an option to consider. I went from V-twins that felt like sitting on a wood stove (Victory Vision) when in traffic, to Adventure touring bike with a parallel twin, to the RS. I am happy with the RS; I put bar risers on to help with a shoulder issue and bought a wider screen for the cold weather in the north east. The RT is a great bike, I prefer more air flow and a lower center of gravity and still want some weather protection in the heavy rain; the RS fits the bill perfectly.
