I agree to your comment that our bikes are already heavy, complicated and expensive, but new technology is also very cool so I must admit that I actually like these kind of systems. I have a Volkswagen Tiguan which has, adaptive cruise control (keeping the distance to the vehicle in front all the way down to stand still which is great in heavy traffic), lane assist (gently keeping the car in the lane), front and rear assist (automatic emergency breaking if I come to close to an object) and I can definitely see myself using similar system on my bike as long as I decide and control when to use them as they are not suitable in every situation.
