As I use the bike for everything - errands, commuting and long trips, I have a pair of the kevlar lined jeans for the short trips. I'm usually not getting out of 3rd gear when running errands in the city. I'm not sure what kind of protection they will provide, but it makes me feel ATGATT. |

It got a bit warm today, here in Asturias. I almost conked out at 29C in a deep gorge with little air circulation. The Rukka jacket got stuffed in the topbox and I covered my white flesh with a long sleeve T shirt to protect me from the sun and other drivers from the glaring reflection. I rode the last 50 miles back to the hotel like this. |

I keep noticing that U.S. monthly motorcycle magazine photos all show the editors riding in jeans and sometimes tennis shoes - while wearing the latest full-face helmets, riding jacket and gloves, when reviewing new motorcycle models.

OK, confession time. I once rode from South of Alicante in Southern-ish Spain to St Marie de la Mer in Provence, France in a T-shirt, jeans and no gloves- but wearing a helmet, of course! I had all the gear with me but it was so damned hot that I could not bear to wear it. This was on a big Moto Guzzi that made your legs just a bit hot from all the heat from the sticky-out cylinders.
