With five weeks to go for my Europe trip, I decided to get a few last things so I went to a retail outlet about twenty miles away. When I arrived it was extremely windy and looking like rain and sure enough the heavens opened. Got what I needed then head back to where I had thought I'd parked the bike, it wasn't,t there, that was the first panic, eventually after trawling the car park for 10mins I found it. Next panic, I put my goods in the top box and got my wet weather gloves out because it was still raining, I turned the ignition on and proceeded to start the bike that's when nothing happened and I could see the engine management light was on, switch off, switch on, switch off, switch on, still nothing, took seat off to check connections to no avail. Oh forgot to mention the wife was with me so I was being advised by her that this wasn't good as we were meant to be going away on it, she loves to state the obvious.

I was just about to call the recovery service when I thought I would try one last thing, I had parked the bike on the centre stand so I thought if I bump it off the stand it might shake something back in to place, that's when it dawned on me, as the bike came of the stand I noticed it didn't roll forward, because it was in bloody gear what an fool, put it in neutral and hey presto it started. Moral of story 'Don't Panic' check the obvious first.

I think the biggest worry is that both of you went back to where you thought you parked the bike and subsequently got the first panic. Had to read the message twice to make sure that the bike was not moved on you, and it didn't sound so after a re-read.
