BTW - He recently served 13-months for harassing his ex-girlfriend and her mother.

On the face of it the motorcyclist had the right of way and was taken out by the right turning car. Am I missing something? Why is a previous and unrelated conviction even mentioned?

The actual collision bit has been cut from the footage - was probably unpleasant to see.
IMHO the car driver can't be blamed at all. Sure the bike had right of way but was going too fast. An alert driver could have seen the bike and avoided the collision but the speeding biker should have anticipated the hazard and let's face it you have to if you want to survive on a bike.
All the rest of it, the fireball, the unrelated offence, the license/insurance violations are incidental.

Looks on the face of it that the car driver was negligent when turning right. But the Speed camera could have clocked the motorcyclist speeding. (Quite likely.)OK, he wasn't legal on the road, but 50/50 liability would be more fair.

This article doesn’t make sense, as on the face of it, regardless of him speeding, the driver turned across him caused the accident. Not the motorcyclist. So there must be more to this, and there is, he was driving not in accordance with his licence in addition to without insurance.

Presumably there was some penalty on the car driver, but it’s not reported.

I think you need to allow for the foreshortening effect of the camera angle. His speed appears to be slower than it really was. The car driver may not have been fully alert but the bike was going waaay too fast. He was braking heavily but still smashed in to the car with considerable force.
When they say that speed is the cause of most accidents, this is the sort of thing they mean.
