This has been the Summer of my return to old-style gear. It all started with a "wild hair" to replace the pants (they somehow shrunk) on my late-80s Aerostich 2-piece suit. I had a couple of eBay errors, but I finally found a great pair of replacement pants. But, one of those errors was a well-washed Hi-Viz yellow suit with light gray (silver) ballistic sections. No rips or tears, just provenance as they say. When it's under 75F, I've been wearing the eBay error, looking like I'm super safety conscious and a mileage king.

Anyhoo, today's weather was fantastic, so I did a 350-mile ride up to western New York state and stopped at a Tim Horton's Donut shop for a coffee. Back in the day, Timmies was a Canadian company and they used to have maple-leaf-themed mugs and such. I have a small collection. IMHO, the coffee is better than Dunkin Donuts, but the company is now owned by PizzaHut or Pepsi and the Canadian themed products have mostly disappeared.

So, I was standing at the pick-up counter in my hi-Viz suit when the young lady handed me the medium-sized dark roast with cream and wished me a safe landing on the Moon. I nearly pissed my pants laughing and offered that I thought I looked like a Fireman. The coffee lady informed me that her father was a Fireman and I didn't look like her Daddy. By this time, the other coffee shop customers decided to express opinions and Fireman lost heavily to Astronaut.
