I recently fitted lowered passenger footpeg and if you wish to do the same the following maybe helpful. Removing the pillion footpegs is a simple task but it is easy to lose two important parts that you will have to reuse. To remove the peg the first step is to remove the circlip and fixing pin. Between the peg and the hanger is a ‘U’ shaped metal plate. Between the plate and the peg is a small spring and a ballbearing located in a blind hole in the peg. These lock the peg in either the up or down position by the ballbearing locating in one of two holes in the ‘U’ plate. It is easy for the spring and ballbearing to fly off never to be seen again if you just pull the peg out. So before pulling the peg out I suggest you cover the peg with a cloth to catch the spring and ballbearing. Assembly is easy if you locate the spring, ballbearing and peg in the ‘U’ shaped plate and offer this up to the hanger.
