Quebec route 138 travels from Montreal, via the north side of the St Lawrence and will eventually connect with Labrador at Blanc Sablon. It is not finished yet.

It has made progress northward. It has been several years since I last went to its end. It now ends near Kegashka, which is about 750 miles north east of Quebec city. My guess only the last 30 miles of so will be un paved. (new very good gravel ready for paving at some point).

If you enjoy beautiful scenic two lane roads that become increasingly remote with tiny towns.

If there is any interest in joining me let me know I'm some what flexible in my travel dates.

Just curious, I can't make the trip this year, is there a return route option other than backtracking on 138?

Two options

return on 138 and take a ferry from Godbout to Matane on the south side of St Lawrence

There remains scheduled ferry boat that still service the northern villages that do not yet have a road to them. Going north you can put your bike on the ferry, visit the remote villages, pick up the northern part of 138 at Vieux Fort, ride to Blanc Salon catch the ferry to Newfoundland then back thru Nova Scotia ( or from Blanc Sablon take the Trans Labrador in a large loop back to Baie Como)

I almost certainly catch the Godbout ferry one way or the other
