Hi. Don’t shoot me down. I love my rs, awesome power, with such low down grunt, great fuelling and well thought out, but, and here’s the but, I was wondering if I could make some minor changes to the riding position. I appreciate it’s a sports tourer but for longer journeys a feel the weight on my wrists and am tempted to lower the foot pegs and possibly raise the handlebars a bit. That’s a slightly more sit up and beg position. Has anyone else done this to the Bike? And if so can you give any advice? I don’t want to go down the rt route, I like the smaller fairing, and the GS is too high, heavy and cumbersome for me. Thoughts? Thanks for your help. |

My '16 RS came with Heli Bar Risers installed by the previous owner. Very comfortable with a more upright riding position. Very similar (more costly, I'm sure) to Paul's post |

I have fitted both bar risers and peg lowering kit. |

I put on the Ilium risers. Like ‘em and fast delivery was nice. |

I went looking for risers and first bought a second-hand set of the Ilium ones from a departing R1200RS forum member, but then found a second-hand set of the Wunderlich ones too, so bought them as well. Even now that my back is sorted, I've left them on the bike because I find they have improved the handling. The only downside is that my windscreens are no longer as effective as they used to be. I spent a lot of dosh on aftermarket screens and found two that were pretty much perfect, but the addition of the risers screwed that up for me all over again. Anyway, I prefer the Wunderlich ones because they look more 'factory', and are almost unnoticeable on the bike. If you want my Ilium ones, you're welcome to them. I also like the bike a lot, but did get painful wrists after long rides. So I installed the MV Handlebar risers (3 cm up and 3 cm backwards) and the MV footpeg lowering kit. A great improvement, I can do long tours now without any issues or pains. |

i put helibars on and very happy with them, I have the sport seat as well and higher and better for me so dont need to use the peg lowers.
