Joined the old forum in Oct to do research on the RS, but hadn't made a post as it went down just before I took delivery.

I traded my first BMW motorcycle, a '15 RnineT w/15k miles for the RS. The 9t was/is a great bike but very cramped for the distances I started to do on it. It was my introduction to the boxer engine though, and really made an impression.

I rode the 9t 500 miles to Asheville, NC to Eurosport Asheville which is a great shop I'd recommend to anyone in the area. It also made for a nice break in ride home without the hassle of waiting for the bike to be broken in.

Hope the new forum gains some traction & becomes the resource for the RS.

nice color, even if the white / blue do not want to admit it, the black one is the fastest

What do you have for beautiful suitcases? Are they attached to the factory mountings?

I am not satisfied with the original BMW suitcases, without inner pockets you can not use them well. For tours, I like to take a suitcase divided into half for cards, drinks and such, the other half for rain suit, lock and so on. This is hardly possible with the inside pocket.

Thanks! So far she's been plenty fast enough. Much smoother than the air cooled boxer and the speed rather takes me by surprise at times. If the lupin or gray are faster, so far I'm OK with it. Maybe I'll put up a fight later.

The side cases are SW-Motec trax adventure panniers (37/37L) w/the evo quick disconnect rack (excellent system). Rated as waterPROOF not just resistant. The top load/water resistance was a major sell for me over the BMW cases.

They are also available in 45L if you never plan to return home. They currently have 3 models available (evo, ion & adventure) all use the same rack with slightly different features. They advertise the durability/water resistance as the main reason to pick one over the other, but the removable lid & internal mount point for bungee & tool bag on the lids were the primary reasons I went with the adventure. Overall a very neat system that completely comes off the bike in seconds (rack & all), aluminium vs. plastic, at a touch more than the OEM luggage price.

If there's interest, I can snap some detailed pics of the cases in the near future.

Other mods I've already done:
MRA tinted multi-x-screen
MAMO Avant-garde, mudsling & xhead covers
REMUS full carbon slip-on (header in the future?)
GIVI tank lock (20L tank bag not pictured)
BMW HP adjustable footpegs

The side cases look really much better then the originals, I'm just afraid that the EVO bracket does not look so good when the suitcases are off.
Can you make another picture without a case - thanks

To be fair, the evolution rack is not as subtle as the OEM rack. However, it takes a quarter turn of 3 bolts to remove. If my panniers come off so do the racks.

Three mount points: on license, below grab rail, & above rear peg

OK, you resurrected the Forum. That was a good thing.

However, acting like some of our politicians and just saying whatever you want to believe as fact, no matter how wrong, is just bad.

Thanks for the pictures Daniel,
I think the panniers really great, and looks mounted very great with black bike color, the rack ... well not so good.
If i had no panniers I would probably take this with the rack.
Maybe I can really see her here in Europe and then buy these, but now missing the final bit of motivation.
